The purpose of a sketchbook is to play and experiment with new ideas.  Picasso made moch ups of the ballet russes where he made their costume designs and set designs.  I am inspired by the sketchbook to make first ideas of what can become a major composition.  This is paint on paper then cut and paste in the sketchbook.  It gives me space to envision further development of this practice and the results that can come from it.
